RANI PADMAVATHY – QUEEN OF VIRTUES
An epitome of beauty, valour and virtuosity, her sacrifices fall short of pages in the annals of history, Her story is of love and obedience and principles, attracted by her beauty many a men fell for her.
The mere sight of her gave birth to lust, a glimpse of hers alhaudiin Khilji, he could not suppress his love for her, he longed to see her which was forbidden.
A prolonged request made him view her as a reflection, forming her reflection even the mirror broke into pieces, deceitful ways of Khilji proved futile for so pious and virtuous was the queen.
She was not a mere queen, her concern for her people made her even more lovable, she was undeterred and served as a shield after Rana’s demise, her people were her utmost priority.
She stepped straight into the flame for Jauhar, this time the breath of death was hot, not cold as always, there was pain as well. flames licking her cheeks, as if the sun sent fiery deadly kiss, she lets out a cry as she enters the embers, “I burn every day into ashes to be reborn with the sunrise.”
Rhetoric she seems to pose,“When will the women be free of this suffering?”
