Let's help liberate today's woman

As usual, got dressed up for the regular exhibit like a portrait or a show doll with a picture perfect look for the upcoming marriage proposal. Already groom’s Uncle had made a casual visit a day before with the regular enquiries. Everyone at home pretty excited and hoping that at least this alliance clicks for their daughter. Already it’s too late. Some of her friends are into family having one or two kids. The main concern is what people would say to have a marriageable daughter at home. All of a sudden their lovable daughter becomes a burden to them. This alliance must match is what they expect. All sweets and savouries kept ready with a neat and tidy cozy home to welcome the groom’s family. As per the prior mobile conversation, the family arrives at the said time. They take a glance of the house as if making mental calculations about how much to demand from these people.

On the other hand in the room where the girl is ready half-heatedly to walk down the ramp of groom selection there’s turmoil in thoughts and feelings of the girl. Her mother gives a final look at her from top to toe checking if she’s perfectly dressed which in reality is an embarrassment. The girl doesn’t understand that how her attire, physical wellness, monetary sufficiency, few sweets and savouries accompanied by surface level talks can decide upon the lives of two individuals.

In rare cases are the boy and the girl allowed to talk to each other. But that isn’t enough to lead a whole life of responsibilities and commitments. There’s much beyond this-understanding of each other’s likes and dislikes, compatibility in decision making is what really matters. It’s just not the life of these two individuals it’s the coming together of two families who require understanding as well to provide a cordial relationship.

Somehow the wedding is solemnised and the girl enters her new home after a grand wedding. For her it’s a world of her dreams about which possibly she had read in “Mills and Boons” and other fairy tales where it was said, “They lived happily ever after”. Whether her dreams would come true or will remain dreams forever only she knows and the coming time of course would disclose everything soon. With expectations and hopes life goes on for her until she realises she’s trapped in a maze and she doesn’t know the way out. What she ought to do is stretch out her wings without a second thought anymore. She and many other women like her must come in terms with reality and talk to themselves everyday for a new beginning.
