Sensitivity is not just being sympathetic, it demands you to be empathetic.
A lovely Wednesday evening greetings to the gorgeous women readers of STHREEJEEVAN. As I browsed through the calendar I found a special day for the women who play manifold roles in real life.
But I as the co-founder of SthreeJeevan.com, want you all to view this day in a different perspective which would be meaningful and memorable.
International Women’s Day is on the cards, so what have you planned for the day. Shopping, eat out, partying isn’t that the usual lousy thing to do. Shouldn’t you celebrate your living in a meaningful manner.
The whole nation at this juncture is talking about the brave deeds of Abhinandan Varthaman. I’m sure his mother would be filled with pride at her son’s heroism. Same way many of you who read the updates on media were happy too.
Is this reaction alone enough? Don’t you think you should take a step further and react in a better way by reaching out to the war widows and destitute children who have faced a loss.
Most of you are a part of various women’s welfare associations and other clubs which work for women empowerment. Divert your activities for the women beyond your zone and help them make their living. The loss of their loved ones is irreparable but life has to go on. To keep their life going instill in them a confidence that you are there to support them by all means. I’m sure this is not an impossible task for strong women like you. Anticipating a positive response from you I dedicate the following lines to you-
Epitome of patience, love and affection,
Anchor for the others in the storms of life,
Pandora’s box of all earthly virtues,
Relentlessly works to celebrate the power of women.
