When everything seemed monotonous,
There came up a motivation from my buddies.
They felt I was created by the Maker not just for a mere living,
I was destined to make a mark.
It all sounded good but what’s different in me!!
Forty years have passed,
I’m yet to understand what’s unique in me.
I sat back on my couch,
A gentle wind blew the strands of my hair,
I lifted my head to tuck it behind my ears,
As I bent forward to do so I found a few sheets of paper strewn over,
Crinkly, yellow pages of my old diary with my verses in faded ink.
My thoughts of yesteryear flashed before me,
I felt life gave me a second chance to revive my skill.
I understood it’s never too late to begin again,
It would make me compose better.
I need to grab this second chance before my monotony retreats,
I reaffirmed to myself that it’s not late to fulfill my dream.
