This maxim is oft repeated by so many people around us. But do we really take care of our health. Women after certain age are so engrossed in their daily life that they ignore their wellness. Childbirth brings about hormonal imbalances in women. Irregular periods, thyroid, mood swings, weight loss or gain, sleeplessness are some of the problems women face. Till a woman is at her mother’s place her eating habits, sleeping pattern is perfect. Once she becomes a mother she doesn’t allocate time for herself. Many women skip breakfast in the morning rush hour. They keep postponing on pretext of work. This pays a heavy toll over their health after forty.
They cook nutritious food for the rest of the family but fail to understand that to serve others, they require nutrition as well. Bone strength reduces after certain age. Calcium rich food is very essential. Many of them stop consuming dairy products with an inhibition that we might put on weight. Sometimes they get carried over by the advice of dieticians to reduce weight or increase. The dieticians make money at the cost of our health. A simple logic that we need to understand is that our wellness is in our hands. Regular exercise, simple yogasanas, meditation will help us gain good health and mental stability. Our wellness is our responsibility so we must exercise care for it. This would help us strike a proper balance between the mind, body and the spirit.
Food for thought ???
